Chapel of Saint Mamas (old)
It belongs to the type of the compressed cross-in-square domed church with a narthex added to the west. The church dates to the 13th century and was probably funded by a member of the nobility who owned estates in the area during this period. An inscription found at the basilica of saint Athanasios Pentaschoinitis mentions a nobleman named Dimitrios, from Alaminos, who is probably connected with the chapel of saint Mamas. The church was declared an Ancient monument (Table B). It celebrates on September 2.
