Chapel of Saint Timotheos
Feast day: January 22
The chapel is located to the north of the settlement of Kato Lefkara, on the internal road that leads to Pano Lefkara. According to oral testimony, until 1845 the sarcophagus of a local saint called Timotheos was preserved in this chapel. The chapel is considered one of the latest examples belonging to the type of the compressed cross-in-square with a dome, encountered in the region of Lefkara, and dates probably to the 15th or the 16th century. It measures 9.45 m by 5.98 m. Its eastern part still preserves byzantine ceramic tiles. The chapel is a listed monument (Table B). Its feast day is on the 22nd of January.
