Chapel of blessed Olympiada
Feast day: July 25
The church is located within the premises of the Foundation “Ιerapostoli”, near the Monastery of saint Thekla. It is a single-aisled, stone-built small chapel and is covered by a gabled roof with tiles. It has doors on the west and north sides, which are protected by double-pitched canopies. To the left of the main entrance (west) is a full-length, mosaic depiction of blessed Olympiada, who lived in the 4th century and was a fellow of saint John Chrysostom, Archbishop of Constantinople. The stone-built belfry is located at a short distance from the semicircular apse of the sanctuary. It was inaugurated on 1 June 2019 by Barnabas, Metropolitan of Trimythous. The feast day of the chapel is on the 25th of July.
